Central Florida Winds announces the beginning of our 26th season

with a concert on Sunday, September 28 at 3:00 pm

at Suntree United Methodist Church

Egmont Overture by Beethoven, musically telling the tale of the 16th century Count of Egmont who was persecuted, arrested, tried and executed for leading the resistance

in the Netherlands against Spanish rule.

Shepherd's Hey by Percy Grainger is based on traditional English Morris dances that date back to the 15th Century.

Song of Solace by Ryan Nowlin is a heartfelt and very moving commissioned work for

a couple who lost their son.

Folksong Suite by Vaughan Williams showcases his love and passion for

traditional English folk music.

Finlandia by Sibelius gives us a powerful symphonic poem that serves as a musical expression of Finnish nationalism and the nation's struggle for independence.

And finally, Conga del Fuego by Arturo Marquez. This inspired work showcases the energy of the conga dance and the pre-Columbian Mexican ritual of the “New Fire” ceremony.

An exciting finish to our program!
